The word Hillbillys has the red line under it as if it was "spelled wrong" according to whatever program you made it in. Thought it was kinda funny that it was still on there even after you saved it.

I know exactly what you mean... just a thought of somethin i was gonna do... but you could too!! I was going to sand one to bare metal.. write on it.. then clear it.. bare metal sign.. AND paint one and patina it.. OR! Leave one bare metal... write letters on it... and then let it rust!! Whip out your airbrush too if ya need somethin cheap to practice on :)
Up to you on how far to take em :) Good practice is the way i look at it :thumbs:

Ho ho. First official post as a Hillbilly. I was finally able to score some kid's workshop kits from Home Depot. I've got about 30 School Bus Organizers and 20 or so little tool boxes. I'm working on putting two of them together, so you can all see what they look like. They're for ages 4 and up, so I'm wondering if I should put a few together for the smaller kids for them to just paint? Any suggestions? ???

Paint shirts would be great. I'm sure Cody and I can round up a few as well. How many people will be manning the kid's tent again? Are any of the other ladies on the forum for me to contact? The kits are going to be a little more labor intensive for the adults. Each of them requires about 6-8 nails (included in the kits.) I know it's not much, but ideally the parents would take part in the project as well, so we're not overwhelmed with all the children with hammers. :)
gabby offered to help, i think she is helping with the "slow race" too. she is not on here, but you can proabably get her on facebook.

I got the clear paper stuff from a arts and craft store by the maplewood mall.. but im sure you could find some at another craft store place around here.. you can get it in sheets or on a roll.. the thicker stuff works best i found out. the thin stuff tears too easy.

well the center was gonna be old skool lace like they used to do on the roofs fo cars. but couldent find any. after it was cleared my boss says "we have a big bag of lace from my moms truck 8 years ago in the desk"..... gerrrrrrrr :mad: and for the letters they are for the hood emblem. old skool low riders always had the clud name in the back window that was a chrome or golded out of metal. i suming it up with NCH and i'm putting it on the hood. rollin all the ideas from a cool old skool lowrider into a hood. hope ya'll get it. kinda lame i know... but it was an idea i had.
I always thought we should make those little rear deck plaques like the lowriders have.

well i threw wrenches and ringgears and pinions at the 55 all weekend and got NO where. tomrrow im throwing air tools at it and see if it fixes itself faster. :help: i cant find a gear set or a rearend i can fab in anywhere so its going out back and getting a time out in the weeds and think about what it did. its last hope is olstroms.. only two weeks to the show and bran new tires waiting to get burned off.
Its ok.. my truck is off to sit outside to think about its issues too.. that 'new' motor is a pile o junk :( sad i still have some red tire to burn off!
maybe we should put them on the trailer and drive buy the crusher and changer there attitudeds on life. ;) i got a 351 windser HO if you wan try it it was in your yard once before. ( its cuz you painted it blow up blue :nod:)

Randy-I contacted Gabby, and she said you are printing and bringing coloring sheets to the show for the kid's tent. I just wanted to confirm.
Also, does anyone have any markers, crayons, or colored pencils to bring along, or should I just buy a few packs to bring?

Gawl. Last year, we probably had 25-30 kids? That's a complete guestimate though. If you print 40, that should be plenty. Let me know if I can help at all. I can print some off as well if needed. What do they look like? It's just the little Hillbilly guy, right? I'm waiting for Gabby to respond about a contest. She originally mentioned a coloring contest, but I told her that would require age groups, a judge, and possibly prizes. I'll let you know what she wants to do, and we'll go from there!

We registered I believe 94 cars. (93, 94, or 95) and when I did a walk through @ 3 just after the rap contest. And then When I did a walk through after the rap contest, I counted 6 that hadn't registered. And That's not counting the ones that left before that.
