Well.... It's been a long time-a-comin.
Plans were to pick up the quad this weekend. Raptor was started up today. Had a vid of it even running. sitting idleing, it blew the Head gasket again. :(
Also shifting bad into 2nd gear. Motor is coming out and completely apart again. :mad:
What makes the head gasket blow out again? too much compression?? idk..
and whats the story with the shifting??
is it their first rodeo?? ???
Maybe they should talk with Garth Brooks. Pretty sure he's got "rodeo" experience.

No, its for sure not to much compression. its a point over stock. nothin crazy. He's honestly not sure, the head has to come off anyways to look @ the 2nd gear issue. Head is going to be decked/milled 1/100th as well as the cylinder to ensure both have a solid flat surface.
2nd gear. the guys @ idaho said it felt weird. but one other guy said it didnt. Roy (the guy who has the raptor now) rode it for about 5 mins and said it was weird. Probably a shift fork assembly inside supposedly. Beyond me. The waiting game starts over.
And the nuts kicking continues... :S

or try a head from the granada.. that should bump up the HP 97 points.. plus.. it already has too much HP.. i wont notice that tiny bit gone. haha

Naw, it sounds like 2 weeks. It depends on whats messed up in the tranny, if it's only a shift fork or something more.

i had an 86 250x with a mild build. i would smoke the stocks no problem. it even had a twist throttle. :rev:
yep , they are super fun! mine had a 10:1 piston, ported and polished head and a stage 1 hot cam oh and a full dg exhaust.. it was soooo fun! i want another one!
They are a rare find it seems. I've been keeping my eyes open the last few months, maybe seen 3 at the beginning of the year. Don't see much on any more.
my buddy tim has an 87 that he completely redid from the bottom up. he put new bushings in the swing arm and a arms. things gunna be tight he also replaced the whole ctutch and top end

yea i know theyre awesome. all mine needed where some carrier bearings for the axel and i would have been ready to rip. but instead i traded it for a 95 mazda b4000
Making progress. Found out why it was shifting funky. Shift rod when it got put back together wasn't on a little roller dealybob.. I believe the head will be put back on tomorrow and fired up this weekend. Fingers crossed the head gasket holds. :help:
If it doesn't. Head and cylinder will come back off and each will be milled down to ensure a good seal (100% sure).
