Title: 225/50-16 tires
Post by: Chauncey on August 22, 2011, 08:35:18 PM
Howdy boys (and ghouls).  I've got some rubber I be needin' to get rid of.  I bought em a little over a month ago with the intention of rewrapping my SHO wheels and slappin' 'em on the wagon for a while, but that plan didn't pan out so well.  They'll fit the rims on the Vic but their overall height is a big enough difference where I don't wanna use them on it (meaning, I need all the MPG I can get...).  And they're way too nice to just burn em off.

Anywho, they're 225/50-16.  Two of them are Kumho Ecsta AST and two are General Altimax HP.  Don't know how much tread is left in technical terms, but they look like they'll last a pretty good while longer.

I bought 'em for $80.  Putting them on Craigslist for $100 to see what happens.  Will offer them to a club member for what I paid or at least somewhat close.  Not looking to get rich, just need 'em gone.

Ideally the 4 at one time, I s'pose.  Thinking it'd be easier to get rid of them that way.  We'll see.

Well, I found out the hard way that my current tires don't have as much grip as I thought. On the way to work this morning, hit the clover leaf from 36 to 35e north and got a bit sideways towards the end of it, at 45 mph and with a car right behind me. It was pretty wild. Didn't help that the road was a little wet either.

So whatever funds I can get from these will go to some new(er) ones for the Vic. And the current Vic rears will be burnt...
