The rusty fuel pump screwed to the passenger door is cool.  The rubber gas line out the vent window and in the corner of the hood is okay.  But...could he put the gas can a little farther away from the pump??  Why not just put the gas can in the passenger seat? Nobody else is going to be sitting there.

Hope it survives, because a little later we are taking it up to Breckenridge to meet the guy who owned it much of its life.  It really is being a good dog, although it throws the fan belt off occasionally.  Many of the initial bugs are fixed, and when fall rolls around I can get to the rest.

Yeah, Wisconsin.   A person would be inclined to carry the .357 up there if he had one.  Which he claims not to.

Is it just me, or does it spook anyone else to load up the iffy street machine and take off for a far away destination?  You know it's running okay, you have done the same amount of miles in a weekend closer to home...you have tools, wiring stuff, fluids, jack, .357, a big cooler.  What could possibly go wrong?

Over the BTT50's weekend I put over 300 miles on the pickup, and no problems.  Never more than 40 miles from home.  Tomorrow we jump in and head up to Superior, WI...a mere 115 miles from our doorstep.  No problem, right?  Why then am I sitting here typing with one hand, breathing into a brown paper bag?  Stressed?  Oh, no.  I'm fine.

I agree.  Besides the cars, I enjoy WWII history, and the B25 was amazing.  That show is now definitely on the permanent list at our house.  Another show I really like is the Pantowner's show in St. Cloud.  About 800 cars, a huge swap meet, indoor exhibits and no snobbery.  If my ride has a little hard earned surface rust, I am not interested in put downs from the highly polished set.  Hey, I like their cars...so...

I have Thrush welded Muffs....Good choice, 'cause they don't do any quieting whatsoever.  Wasn't happy with the short cherry bombs, so I switched to the welded muffs to quiet down.  Yeah....no.  Nice woodpecker though.  Looks like your 454 is really nice!  Should be substantially louder than mine.  Don't have to have a CD player.

Here is a Rambler AMX with a Rambler motor and NO power adders.  So....looks like American v8 rear wheel drive rules.

So....no more "I didn't know (insert brand here) could make enough power to break" talk.  Whatever you are driving, you can still get your rump handed to you.

But Hey...I'm not saying Chevys aren't fast:  Check out this BBC with a license plate:

(But note they need a carnival barker to promote it).

Maybe, but it's only 331 cubic inches.  Here is a slightly larger Ford small block run:

Of the hundreds of Fords that can take 25 pounds of boost....   Here's one.  10.5 tire car

I'm thinking he'd be embarrassed to be driving a Chevy too.

Yeah...laughing academy hospitals.  Interestingly I stole my wiring from a hospital.  Hmmm..... ???

Thanks for the kind encouragement.  We went down to St. Francis and only lost the blinker indicator light (on the handle) and high beams. :P  Good thing the wipers are vacuum!  I have a (supplemental) vacuum cannister, and it really makes those old wipers flail.  Now if there was rubber on them....

Show cut short by rain, but I saw a couple of really nice cars.  Anybody else go down there??  I'm hoping the Frankensteiners meltdown doesn't get rained.

I am definitely not patient enough.  It all works...but it looks like a spaghetti malfunction.  Especially under the dash.  So bad I'm considering doing it over this winter. :'(

Kicked lazyness's rump:  Got headlights...will have all lights in tomorrow.  Wiring is like religion:  Unless you believe, it doesn't work.  ???
