Title: Carb/Intake for the Coronet!
Post by: Krandall on December 30, 2009, 08:45:08 PM
I about.... 2 years ago bought a Weiand Aluminum 4BBL Intake for my Coronet. I have what I'd consider an Oddball motor.. 318 Poly. (The Semi-Hemi)  No one makes aftermarket intakes for them anymore, so if you can find one on ebay you have to pay an arm and a leg for a good one. Got mine for a hair under $300. But I've been procrastinating paying the $300 they want for a carb. It's weird. $300 for a fuel controller for my 4 wheeler was a no brainer. But for whatever reason. I have been procrastinating. Well. I finally stepped up and ordered the setup. Edlebrock 600CFM Manual Choke Carb, air cleaner and gaskets.

Can't wait for spring to come!!!! I've marked off on the intake where I'm going to do some mild porting (just gasket matching). Sorry no pics. I wasn't thinking when I was at my parents place last weekend. Maybe next weekend.

PS - I tried throwing in some attributes in the img tag but it didn't accept them.  How do you manually restrict the pic size on here?

Can't do anything until I can get the coronet inside somewhere. Get down there and start shoveling. 8)

plus I have to see what other things are needed when I do the cam. (other pieces to the puzzle)

So. Found out one issue I had w/ the new carb.

I had the vacuum advance hose on the wrong plug on the carb :fail: ....

I got it switched over to the correct side. It runs tons better. Still have a stumble on the top end but now it feels more like a tuning issue.

Have to talk to the neighbors about electronic ignition for it. would be nice to eliminate one thing to trouble shoot. :)

gettin there slowly.

Still gotta get up there and get the new wheel cylinders in. The brakes work now.. (3 pumps) but it'd be nice if they just worked
