Post by: 55.ferris on December 08, 2010, 11:02:09 PM
yeah thats no good how about a fuse?? or test power at the fuse then at the tank and start chacing wires. fun fun fun. thats why you keep it carburated. lol good luck. does it have a oil pressure gauge? some vehicals wont start or send power tell they read oil pressure while cranking. watch the gauge if it has one while you crank.   had a chev truck that cranked for ever tell it showed oil pressure then it would start. new sending unit and a little 80/90w and she was lovin life.

well i checked the fuses.. a 15a was bad.. replaced that.. started.. ran for 3 seconds.. dies.. bad 15a fuse again.. replaced it again.. no start. Replaced the relay and the diode. Tried it again.. nothin..
I heard there may be a security code you have to do if you take out the battery.. put the key in the drivers door and turn the key.. well see about that.. tried that.. the key wont even turn! GAhh!! I Dont know.. sooo loooooosssst

throwin out idears
Title: Re: 2000 Lincoln LS
Post by: 55.ferris on December 14, 2010, 10:02:33 PM
that is a brain twister. replaced the fuse and it started then died replaced it again and still womt run? try another fuse maybe if you didn't already then test poweragain and see where your at. it might have a hard code sence its a high end car. and may need a scan tool to unlock or find the issue.  i can use our scan tool from work but not all the best at runnin it yet. i can clear codes and read most i dont know if it can unlock them tho that might be a dealer thing but don't worry my right hand man works at hey ford ford. it might be a help.

Title: Re: 2000 Lincoln LS
Post by: NCHKustoms on December 15, 2010, 09:48:27 PM
Yeah i checked those holes i drilled for nicked wires.. none were hit.

Im thinking its going to the shop in pc this Saturday to get scanned and looked at.. im clueless. Im gonna test the power again at the pump and see where i end up..

Were thinkin a security issue.. i cranked on it a few times.. and it cuts out and the alarm goes off.. wierd. Maybe all of it can be reset or somethin?? well see after this weekend what the shop says.. hope its not too spendy of an issue

I dont have his address at all.. but i do have his phone # and see him everyday at work

Yeah the battery was dead for about a good 4-5 months. I could disconnect it tomorrow and let it sit.. then try it again? But its goin in at 7:30 Saturday morning.. so i might say the heck with the brain headaches for awhile and see what they think.

Just for the record, the first time we did it both wheels spun without hesitation.  I'm pretty sure the left one was right over a small hole in the road for the one I recorded.
