Title: Lambrecht Collection public auction - Sept. 28/29
Post by: Chauncey on August 02, 2013, 08:17:51 PM
So, not sure if anybody saw this but Krandy snuck in a link a while back about this random car collection.  Have been looking into it more and reading the back story and whatnot.  Anywho, they're doing a public auction of all the cars at the end of September.  It's a pretty good drive into Nebraska, roughly 5 hours from here (Owatonna), but man would it be cool to see some of them in person.  Who knows what parts of the country/world these cars will end up in and I'm sure they're gonna go for crazy money, but still.

Randy's original link with a couple random pictures of cars and a quick summary of the collection. (http://autos.yahoo.com/photos/the-survivors-cars-of-the-lambrecht-collection-slideshow/survivor-cars-of-the-lambrecht-collection-photo-2081796890.html)

Complete back story written by the daughter of the owner.  Cool just to read. (http://www.thetruthaboutcars.com/2013/06/the-story-behind-the-lambrecht-chevrolet-collection/)

PDF of the auction flyer - might take a while to load (http://www.vanderbrinkauctions.com/auction_images/135/documents/Flyer.pdf)

Full list of inventory - so many with single digit mileage (http://www.vanderbrinkauctions.com/auction_images/135/documents/Inventory.pdf)

Link to all the pictures taken by the auction company.  There's like 5-6 pages worth.  Bring your drool rag. (http://www.vanderbrinkauctions.com/auctions_pictures.php?detail=135)

"But according to sales figures on online bidding site Proxibid.com, Saturday's auction involved 238 items -- including memorabilia from the dealership -- and brought in $1,951,030 in bids. The auction on Sunday, Sept. 29, sold the remainder of the inventory and collected $890,395. The two-day total: $2,841,425."

As long as the churro is fresh/still warm, then yes.
