Check out this link to the Peckerheadz show in Mahtowa.  Better leave the sound off on this one...but good pictures of about half the cars.

Includes the "other" manure spreader with the slant 6.  Why?  'Cause they don't make a slant 7.  Has the Musher truck at 7:21.  Too shiny for this show.

Car Show/Meet/Cruise Info / Showtember and Showtober
September 12, 2012, 10:33:22 PM
Even though it is on Friday, Sept 14th I think it is 4:00 to 8:00 pm....Come on down to Cambridge for "Customer Appreciation Day".  Should be 100 cars or so scattered around the downtown area:  Post office to Baptist Church, east to the Legion, etc.  Some free chow if you can stand in line.  Awful music, cars...can't be beat.

But thennn....Don't miss the Frankensteiner's Ball #7 at the Anoka County Fairgrounds (down 47 to the fairgrounds.) This is on October 14th 9:00 am to 3:00 (Sunday)  Bring kids in Kostumes, bring some treats for the kids to put in front of your ride...maybe get a Kostume for the vehicle.   Great show, lots of cars.

In between there....there is an unknown quantity:  Hot Rod Roundup #2 in Sauk Rapids on Saturday October 7th[/b.  11:00 am to 4:00[/b] pm Sponsored by the Hot Rod Junkies and the Sewer Rats car clubs.  Might be a good show if we all go.  Says $5 per car, address is 940 35th Ave NE in Sauk Rapids:  Go west to end of Highway 95, left on Highway 23 a short hop to 35th Ave NE.  Some controversy about the name of the place:  Rollie's  or...could be Dusty's.  We're going to check it out.  Only 42 miles west of Cambridge...so...9 gallons of gas. (and 9 back).  If you speed properly.

Pics/Vids of cars / Sawzall the 54 F100

The "stock" truck is on the right, the modified is on the left.  In the first pair, the front wheels are moved up 8", and wheel wells made to match.  Then the rear wheels and fenders are moved ahead the same amount on the box.  Looks stock...but...if you just saw the left picture, you might have to stare a while to see what's different.

The second pair also includes the stock truck on the right, but the Left side truck is also chopped, lowered, front bumper pushed in a little.  At this point I might also shorten the box the 8" to keep it looking balanced.  An 820 cubic inch IHRA pro-stock Boss Ford motor, detuned to 2500 horse to be able to run in traffic...and...you are out having fun.

OOps.  The pictures are too wide for this format.  Sorry.  You get the idea, though.

I'm going to the Peckerheadz show in Mahtowa, MN Sunday the 2nd of Sept.  Show's from 10-2:00.  The "4th annual rat rod show".  I've never gone, but I'm going to check it out.

Here's the flyer:  Peckerheadz.com  (paste it)

Car Discussion / Over Yonder

Is it just me, or does it spook anyone else to load up the iffy street machine and take off for a far away destination?  You know it's running okay, you have done the same amount of miles in a weekend closer to home...you have tools, wiring stuff, fluids, jack, .357, a big cooler.  What could possibly go wrong?

Over the BTT50's weekend I put over 300 miles on the pickup, and no problems.  Never more than 40 miles from home.  Tomorrow we jump in and head up to Superior, WI...a mere 115 miles from our doorstep.  No problem, right?  Why then am I sitting here typing with one hand, breathing into a brown paper bag?  Stressed?  Oh, no.  I'm fine.

Car Show/Meet/Cruise Info / Weekly car shows
May 04, 2012, 12:52:30 PM
I'm wondering about weekly get togethers:  Is the one at the credit union in Isanti on again this year?  Anybody now when it starts?   Same with Cambridge, is there a weekly Cambridge show this year?

Suggestions / Membership

Since I am new I can get away with saying this just once:  The site might have NCH membership info. (I'm pretty much senile, so if it's there just mock me early and often.)

I'm sure a qualifier would be get to know the others first, and that seems right.  I know Farmboy for sure by the '46, but how many of the rest of you I may know or recognize the rides of, I am not sure.  The "What we're about" fits in our family, and living in Cambridge makes me close for events.  Do you have meetings?  When and where?

I've been working on my 51 for a couple of years, so it hasn't been around.  It's back.

Look forward to seeing/joining you.  Until then...please use the right lane for your own safety.
