And finally the frame. New 1 1/8" sway bar up front, 3/4" out back, new coil springs all the way around, New shocks all the way, I got adjustable upper control arms in the rear, boxed in lowers, an adjustable panhard bar and a 9" Strange rear axle with a 3:50 limited slip.

Next I had to modify some brackets, and oil pan, header flanges to fit the new motor in the car with the Small block mounts. I could have bought mounts but thats not the hillbilly way...and it would have raised my engine and center of gravity. So it made sense to modify. Custom alternator bracket for the passenger side. Keeps things equal side to side and down low.

Been talking about doing my 68 for quite a while now, Finally saved enough money to do what I wanted, hopefully this is the last time. For starters I got a 427 BBC, forged crank and pistons, shot peened stock rods with ARP bolts. A Erson Roller cam, Crane Roller Rockers, Edelbrock RPM Air Gap intake and a EZ EFI to top it off.

Gonna try to make it, still no tranny in the impala....not a working one anyways. Waiting on the rebuild to get done.

I think next year we should get more Hillbilly cars dyno'ed. I'm thinking a certain coroner would be a good candidate....

Got the pipes started 3 inch pipes with "H" hipe and welded thrush mufflers. Haven't got the tail pipes yet. Will put up a pic when its done.

Since it hasn't made the cruises lately....I thought I would post a teaser pic.....I will have it in St. Francis Friday as the Impala brakes are going in and out and as we all know it burns (gallons of) oil.

St. Francis is starting up May 11. I think we should try to rock this one all summer. Who is in for the 11th to start us out?
