The burnout competition was in question for a while, especially after a looming wall cloud prompted a frantic scattering of participants late in the morning. But things cleared up enough to ruin a few sets of tires.

Ryan Orvis of Braham, Minn., claimed the burnout trophy with two long smoke fests in his 302-powered '64 F100. He kept on it despite a blown radiator and eventually had to be pushed out of the burnout box.
