Greetings all.  With a new addition to the family yesterday, I'm hoping to start another project sometime soon.  However, the planets must all align and there's gonna have to be some serious voodoo or something invloved to make this insane dream of mine become a reality.  Here's the goods.

I drive a '97 Taurus wagon. I've always wanted a Gen3 (96-99) Taurus SHO w/ a v8.  Even more so, I've always fantasized about a Taurus wagon with the SHO V8 swapped into it.  I'm hoping to get dangerously close to fulfilling this fantasy.

I just purchased a donor "cardaver" for half of the project.  It's a black '99 SHO with a bad motor.  Apparently the valves are bent, which I can only assume is due to cam failure (it's like the plague for SHO's).  Anywho, it's only got 93xxx miles on it so everything else is in pretty stellar condition.  My plans include stripping it naked of all the cool stuff and putting it onto a wagon.  Front bumper, mufflers w/ tips, spoiler, front bucket seats, wheels (already done!), and possibly a few other things.  It's got a really nice hood on it so I might get crazy and attempt some cowl action.  Can't hurt to try, right?  Also, I'm hopefully going to get the rear windows knocked out and smoothed over with tin/sheetmetal.  Making myself a good ole sedan delivery wagon.  It's gonna be so rad.

Pics to come...

The new cardaver:

All pics taking before I washed it.  Supposedly it's been sitting for several years.  Doesn't seem too rusty and rolls pretty easily.

My latest find.  If me and the woman can work some magic/pull some strings this weekend, I'm really hoping this thing will be mine soon:

Found it for sale in Shakopee.  Black (obviously) '96 LX with 158,000.  DOHC engine.  Basically the exact same thing I have now with 100,000 miles less.  Hopefully we can work out a small loan and get this baby home.  Then the madness will ensue...

how about just painting over the back windows?

or having them tinted jet black to match the car. Seems like abetter option than the gawd awful hours of sheetmetal/body work/paint.

just some thoughts.

tinted tail lights in that would be sweeeeeeeeeeeet!!!

just sayin

Yet another poor photoshop job, this one is supposed to show the back window smoothed over.

Maybe I'll throw on some lowering springs as well...

I've actually thought of the paint/tint idea before.  Maybe just paint the inside of the glass so it's completely blacked out.  I'm sure it would look cool, but it would look that much sweeter if it was totally smooth.  Sucks it would take a ton of time, so maybe that'll come later.  Perhaps just black out the windows for now and maybe make some changes later.  I'm sure I could always go to Ostrom's and pick up some replacement rear windows, too.  Maybe make some templates and just have a pop-in filler kinda thing?  Would have to make them self sealing somehow, but it'd be cool.

I don't know.  We'll see how it goes.  As of now I'm just crossing my fingers for this black wagon still.
