The Peckerheadz put on a pretty good show...about 130 Rats and about 35 "shiners" or shiny show cars.  The climax was a single-car flame-thrower show and the guy set his own tires on fire. (and then screamed like a girl).

As soon as I find the camera I will post some pics.  I'm Getting 9 MPG around town and (drum roll) 16+ on the road!
God bless Overdrive.

there was a manure spreader with the steering and seat up front over the radiator.  The engine was a slant 6 mopar. "Why a slant 6?"  "Cause they don't make a slant 7."  Never considered the issue before.

Chevy-in a Ford is cracking:  Saw a Chevy in a Ford but the valve covers had "powered by Ford" valve covers artfully welded onto the Chevy valve cover base.  Uhhh....the distributor is in the back, dude....you're not fooling anyone.

The "stock" truck is on the right, the modified is on the left.  In the first pair, the front wheels are moved up 8", and wheel wells made to match.  Then the rear wheels and fenders are moved ahead the same amount on the box.  Looks stock...but...if you just saw the left picture, you might have to stare a while to see what's different.

The second pair also includes the stock truck on the right, but the Left side truck is also chopped, lowered, front bumper pushed in a little.  At this point I might also shorten the box the 8" to keep it looking balanced.  An 820 cubic inch IHRA pro-stock Boss Ford motor, detuned to 2500 horse to be able to run in traffic...and...you are out having fun.

OOps.  The pictures are too wide for this format.  Sorry.  You get the idea, though.

I'm going to the Peckerheadz show in Mahtowa, MN Sunday the 2nd of Sept.  Show's from 10-2:00.  The "4th annual rat rod show".  I've never gone, but I'm going to check it out.

Here's the flyer:  Peckerheadz.com  (paste it)

Chauncey, That is a vicious looking little Triumph.  I like it!  Light, if it runs like a Triumph 750 it's fast...  A person could chew up a Harley just for fun.

Was UGLY hot at Pie Day.  The next day we left to go to the show in Chippewa Falls, WI.  About 800 cars, Fabulous swap meet.  More actual car-related swap vendors than the Back to the 50's, with a lot less people in the way of seeing stuff.

It was 73 degrees with a pleasant breeze and dewpoints in the 50's.  Ahhhhh!   :P :P :P

My big green dog got 15.8 mpg for the trip!!!  God Bless overdrive.

I've seen Front Wheel Drive cars on the mobile Chassis dyno.  Did they stop allowing them up there?  (backwards, of course).  It certainly wouldn't put a strain on the equipment.

Great!  These are similar in KOOL to Farmboys lil' red wagons.  I used to have sled dogs (old musher).  They weren't granny huskies, they were Greyhound, Saluki and Pointer.  Hook about 6 of them to one of these trikes and you will instantly learn to drift.  Take a change of shorts.  Here is my drift trike:  Yamaha 750 up front, Volkswagon Rabbit out back, 250 pounds... (Yamahopper)  Drift over frozen gravel like it was ice.

My 51 is doing okay in spite of my worries.  I know what's likely to "fail" or act up, and I have tools along to fix it.  With my incompetence the wiring is always suspicious.  But I have extra everything just in case.  Better be good, because on August 5th I'm going to be in Chippewa Falls with it.  Supposedly 700 cars at a 1 day show, swap and car corral.
